# Neper > Neper is a general-purpose programming language optimized end to end for LLM-generated > software: a 100% self-hosted compiler, linker and standard library that build > deterministic native binaries for Windows, Linux and macOS, on CPU and GPU. Neper is MIT open source. The compiler and toolchain are written in Neper itself. The design targets are one million lines per second per core and a sub-second whole-project rebuild, with causal diagnostics, hermetic tests and a byte-identical self-hosting fixed point instead of a VM or a GC runtime in the image. A single language covers CPU and GPU kernels. ## Start here - [Get started](https://neper.dev/get-started.html): install, first program, build and run commands. - [Website](https://neper.dev/): overview, demos and the capability catalogue. - [Showcase](https://neper.dev/ux/showcase.html): a native UI built with Neper's `e.ui`. - [GitHub repository](https://github.com/nebosa-company/neper): source, issues and release notes. - [Discord](https://discord.gg/AdRneEsbCu): questions and discussion. ## Language reference - [Neper LLM editing card](https://neper.dev/llm-neper-card): the compact grammar and editing rules for agents. - [Grammar](https://github.com/nebosa-company/neper/blob/main/docs/grammar.ebnf): the normative EBNF. - [Standard library module APIs](https://github.com/nebosa-company/neper/blob/main/docs/module-apis.md): what `e.*` and `x.*` provide. - [Design decisions](https://github.com/nebosa-company/neper/blob/main/docs/decisions.md): why the language and toolchain look the way they do. - [Diagnostics](https://github.com/nebosa-company/neper/blob/main/docs/diagnostics.md): error identities and repair guidance. ## Blog - [Why Neper is built for the agent loop](https://neper.dev/blog/why-neper-is-optimized-for-llms.html) - [Neper vs Dart: what an LLM pays to write it](https://neper.dev/blog/neper-vs-dart-llm-cost.html) - [A million lines, eight compilers](https://neper.dev/blog/sc1m-eight-compilers.html) - [Ten languages, one window: what you install](https://neper.dev/blog/desktop-toolchains.html) - [A 1 TiB ceiling that costs 3 MiB](https://neper.dev/blog/compiler-memory.html) - [Neper writes WebAssembly itself](https://neper.dev/blog/neper-webassembly.html) - [Six algorithms we first skipped](https://neper.dev/blog/six-algorithms.html) - [Bring your OpenSSL: SQL Server scans 3x faster](https://neper.dev/blog/sqlserver-openssl.html) - [One SQL contract, five drivers](https://neper.dev/blog/e-db-drivers.html) - [234 charts, and when to use each](https://neper.dev/blog/charts-field-guide.html) - [Faster charts, smaller SVG, and PNG size](https://neper.dev/blog/charts-speed-and-png-size.html) - [ClearType text in Neper](https://neper.dev/blog/cleartype-text.html) ## Machine-readable - [llms-full.txt](https://neper.dev/llms-full.txt): the full version of this file. - [sitemap.xml](https://neper.dev/sitemap.xml): every indexable page. ## Policy `robots.txt` allows all crawlers, including AI crawlers (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended).
